Gomel today is the second largest city in the republic. It is a social, political, inter-regional communication centre between Belarus, Russia and Ukraine with developed industry, science and culture.

Great attention is paid to the preparation of specialists of different branches of science, culture and production in the city. 35 thousands of  students study in 7 higher educational establishments. 5 thousands of them receive the degree certificates of young specialists annually.

The young city residents receive special, vocational-technical and secondary education in 15 technical colleges, 16 vocational school, 71 establishments of secondary education. The city residents of Gomel love their city not because of its glory and significance. They love it for the warm feeling of native home. They meet the guests with warmth. They organize holidays and festivals with generosity of rich masters. They are proud of their famous compatriots and their ancient and flourishing city above the Sozh, which marches confidently to its future.

Gomel State Technical College is one of the largest secondary specialized educational establishments in our city. College today is the complex of educational classrooms and laboratories which are highly equipped with modern technical means necessary for preparation of specialist.

The college possesses quite good premises: two educational buildings, workshops, library, and assembly hall. You can find two sporting gyms with modern equipment. There are six computer classrooms which have possibility of using Internet.

Foreign students are offered the hostel. The highly qualified specialists of technical, economic, marketing and financial fields are prepared full-time and part-time today.

 Educational establishment trained specialists for Vietnam, Afghanistan, Algeria, Guinea, Nicaragua, Costa-Rica, Laos, Mongolia.

The entrance for education of foreign residents ( except stated in item №3 of present Rules in accordance with international (including the interdepartmental) contracts of the Republic of Belarus) is held by the College in agreement with Ministry of Education.

Reception on training on conditions of payment of foreign citizens, coming to Belarus on the lawful bases and possessing a necessary level of the previous education, is carried out on the basis of the contracts concluded by college with foreign citizens or their representatives. Except conditions, established by the legislation, the contracts provide the responsibility of the sides under the payment of expenses in  case of sending a foreign citizen out of Belarus. Foreign citizens are accepted to the college at presence of the medical conclusion about a state of health, confirming an ability of training in climatic conditions of the republic, given by official public health services of the country from which the candidate has come from. Foreign citizens, who come for study, are enlisted to the college after going through the obligatory medical inspection determined by the college, and provided by the public health services. The medical inspection should confirm the absence of contra-indications for training in Belarus.

The necessary conditions of transfer of foreign citizens on training are the presence of  the passport or the document replacing it, visas and the medical insurance, contracts made out in the order established by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
